My name is Dineshkumar Kandasamy, and I am a researcher at the Department of Biology at Lund University. I hold a PhD in Biochemistry from the Max Planck Institute for Chemical Ecology in Jena, Germany. I have always been fascinated by how organisms in nature interact with each other. Thus, my research focuses on how bark beetles that harm European spruce trees communicate with trees and symbiotic microbes through chemicals. In this seminar, I will explain why European spruce trees declining and share some ideas to prevent the loss of forests.
